    1. awesome book, a true encyclopedia to all ailments and your natural way to heal yourself from them with an introductory chapter about healthy eating starting with infants and all the way to old age. i found her attack on caffeine a bit overwhelming (every page almost!) i mean its ok to bad talk sugar, white starch and fizzy drinks but when it comes down to chocolate and caffeine i might draw the line. a lot of studies show that a good honest cup of coffee and true dark cacao are considered good e [...]

    2. a resourcful, practical, and insightful book to learn about nutrition--not dieting!!! it's back to basics healthy eating with a motivated and modern viewpoint.i love this book a lot more than her other book which I also read, "you are what you eat."Beginning with a thorough introduction to personal health and nutrition by way of what we put into our bodies, this book lists--from a to zed--many common maladies and illnesses, from the common cold, to depression, pregnancy, and cancer. While some a [...]

    3. Priceless book. Not really a novel as such as Gillian prefers people to read it as and when needed. It contains detail about water (How much to drink, filtered/non-filtered), details about Good fats, Carbohydrates, Fibre, Minerals etc. It exposes people to numerous examples of each food type (e.g. Tahini, Kale, Quinoa, Dulse), this is incredibly helpful as it shows the vast number of foods available to laymen who are narrow-minded when it comes to food choice. There is a selection particularly f [...]

    4. Similar to her book, "You are what you eat", which is one of my all time favorites. this focuses more on actual foods/herbs that can help heal, give energy, etc. I am using it right now to help reduce my allergy symptoms. The info isn't that shocking or new if you are into nutrition/whole foods/healing through food but if not, it's a great and very easy book to follow. (and beware, she doesn't sugar coat anything, which I love--if you are a McDonald's fan she will bust you out!)

    5. This book covers diseases and health concerns one by one and details the foods that cure. For instance, eating a piece of fruit on an empty stomach each day helps with constipation. Who knew? However, I found that several of the issues contradicted each other it left you without too many food options.

    6. A great reference for very healthy eating. There's a huge section at the back for every ailment, a brief explanation and a some tips on what to eat to get better.
