    1. Despite an abundance of elementary mistakes and some curious exclusions, Kabatchnik's book is excellent. It details rare, long-lost productions with aplomb. My only worry reading this book is if there are more errors than the ones that stand out so readily: it's immediately obvious that Kabatchnik is mistaken when he states that there are 60 Sherlock Holmes short stories and three novels (there are 56 stories and four novels), but who is to say what else is right or wrong?Even with the uncertain [...]
