    1. Fascinating history of the Colorado prairie in the early 1900's. The author is a naturalist and his descriptions of the flora and fauna are really beautiful.

It is a lovely depiction of the innocence of childhood and the quiet, steady guidance of loving parents as the boy grows into manhood.
