    1. Didn't much care for the hero. He was a bit of a misogynist who insisted he be left alone to pursue his super-duper important scholarly work, but then seemed to be coming on to the heroine at every opportunity. As soon as the heroine started getting too friendly though, he repulsed her with bitter denunciations of untrustworthy womankind. Pretty douche-y.
